This attribute sets the default display status of the part for drafting. If it is unchecked, the part will also be unchecked on the drafting view part filter list. It's not a big deal to access this list and check the dispaly on for any view. So changing the default attribute setting to checked or unchecked is rare.
A different issue is when a part simply does not show up on the view part filter list at all. This is the case for certain parts that are designated to be always for cutting, like a cooling part. You won't find it in the view.
To change this status, one must activate the cooling part, and use the function Catalog / Attach name / Detach. Pick the cooling as an object and remove its cutting object parameter. Once saved this way it will be viewable on the drafting list of parts to be seen.
